The joy that was around the Camp Nou as they witnessed the MSN trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann did not last long as the Argentine had to be substituted at half-time with discomfort in his left leg.
Messi was making his return to the starting line-up after the injury that had kept him out since the first day of his return for pre-season, having only made substitute appearances in the last two games against Borussia Dortmund and Granada.
During his time on the pitch, Messi was able to provide an assist for Griezmann - the Frenchman's third goal of the season - but around the 30th minute, Messinoticed some discomfort on the left side of his left thigh.
The 32-year-old will undergo tests on Wednesday to gauge the extent of the issue, which does not seem to be serious, but the Barcelona captain will unavailable for the clash against Getafe on Saturday as the Blaugrana do not want to rush him back.
It is a different area than the injury he had been recovering from, and despite being treated by Barcelona's medical team on the side of the pitch, he did not appear for the second half as he was replaced by Ousmane Dembele.
In the coming hours, Messi will be evaluated to know the exact extent of this inconvenience.
